Merchant Monday’s: Sexy Pizza
Happy Monday!
Pizza with a purpose. South Pearl’s Sexy Pizza is more than just your typical by-the-slice pizza joint, they are committed to delivering high-quality food with civic and community engagement.
Their first location opened in 2008 in Capitol Hill, and quickly became a haven for activists and artists alike. Sexy Pizza has been a leader on the topics of homelessness, drug policy reform, and employee ownership, and offer their employees one of the best benefits packages in the city since opening their doors.
The location on South Pearl has been in business since 2012, and they continue to remain engaged with the community though their harm reduction-friendly atmosphere, including biohazard disposal stations, clean supplies, and a staff carrying and trained to dispense narcan, a lifesaving overdose reversing drug, if needed. They also make a significant difference in the community through their Philanthropies!
When you purchase one of their specialty “Philanthropie” pizzas, they donate a percentage of proceeds to their community partners. These organizations are local, aligned with Sexy Pizza’s values, and aim to provide aid to neighbors in need in Denver’s very own backyard.
From harm reduction, to homelessness coalition, education equity, and more, your meal will be making a difference while you be enjoying hand-tossed, deck-oven pizzas that are always made from scratch (including the dough and sauce) with fresh ingredients and hand-cut veggies!
