On the corner of Louisiana Avenue and Pearl Street (one block from the Louisiana/Pearl Light Rail Station) nests a cozy Colorado landmark business – The Duffeyroll Cafe & Bakery known for legendary cinnamon rolls. It features a sidewalk patio adorned with a striped awning and street-side windows to gaze at the neighborhood pedestrians meandering by. A classic baker’s hat hangs above the door and pokes its head out onto the street, inviting customers to step on into the beloved eatery for a bite from their signature breakfast and lunch menu or enjoy sips from Duffey’s espresso or self serve coffee bar.

Community Focused
In addition to their food, Duffeyroll is a community minded, Denver founded company that has become a treasured Colorado tradition over 33 years. Duffeyroll was co-founded by Jim Duffey and Nick Ault in 1986. Duffeyrolls were introduced via two pushcarts on the 16th Street Mall in Downtown Denver. They opened the original Bakery six months later in November of 1986. Nick bought the business from Duffey in 1987 and has enjoyed growing into three locations in Denver with a local delivery/catering business and a mail order business featuring Bake at Home Duffeyroll Pans!
Community is an important aspect for the Duffeys Team. That is evidenced by the customer photos that decorate the walls of the cafe. This particular location was important to Nick because he has lived in the Platt Park neighborhood over 20 years. Wanting to serve the community he lives in, he opened the Duffeyroll Cafe Bakery on South Pearl Street in 2006. Ault loves the daily opportunity his cafe provides for him to serve his community. He has enjoyed watching young young neighborhood families come in Duffeys over the years and seeing the kids grow up. When speaking about his time as a business owner on the block, Nick says he enjoys “knowing we can be a ray of sunshine in a weather-filled world”
